Facts of the Case

A prison guard’s wife decides she wants a divorce & falsely accuses him of domestic violence. She files an order of protection against him and then files for divorce. The order of protection could cost him his job due to background requirements at the prison. He comes to us wanting to not only protect his livelihood, but also put his family back together if possible. 

The Problem

From a legal perspective, he needs to deal with the order of protection & the dissolution. From a factual perspective, the allegations in the order of protection are false & she’s also been lying about having a disability.

Our Approach and Solution

1. Through careful research & proper cross examination, we ensure the truth will come out at the order of protection hearing, which will happen much faster than the divorce hearing.
   
2. We expose that he never abused anyone & the order or protection is found without merit.
   
3. Further, we explained to her that if she truly does have the disability she claims to have, then she wouldn’t be able to care for their 3 small children. Because of that, we may have to inform Social Security Disability that her disability status could be false.

The Outcome of the Lawsuit

After being confronted with the weight of her lies & knowing we’d be able to expose them in a court of law, his wife recanted the allegations. Further, after long conversations together, the two decided to call off the divorce as well. They’re still married to this day.
